BIKER SCOUT
FIRST SHOT

First shots may not always be the most exciting preproduction stage, however this one is incredibly interesting. First, notice the toso is cast in hunter green and the head is unpainted. Secondly, this first shot has an interesting history regarding its use. A number of first shot bodies and heads surfaced in 2001 from an ex-kenner employee. These, like the one shown here, were utilized for head pull safety testing. Kenner was testing how securely the torso peg held the head in place during play. Early Star Wars figures employed a design where the head peg protruded directly from the head. Later in the line Kenner shifted to a different design, where the head peg protruded from the torso instead of the head. This was surely a more effective design change and carried over to other lines like Super Powers.
