AT-AT DRIVER HARDCOPY

Here we see a wonderful example of a painted hardcopy from the ESB line. ESB character hardcopies are exceedingly rare and show up with much less frequency than ones from the ROTJ line. Above we can see the front and back of the piece. The hardcopy is handpainted and you might note the helmet insignias are not present. It is cast in a material very similar to carbalon. The material has a lighter weight to it than carbalon and has a more peanut butter color. The material is somtimes referred to as CP115 by those in the toy industry. Other ESB hardcopies have surfaced in this material as well.

Here we see the piece disassembled. You'll notice it employs plastic pins similar to those of my snowtrooper hardcopy. These are referred to as "stepped pins" and were used when the pin holes were drilled to large and would not hold a metal pin.

Here we see the hard copy next to the production figure. Notice that the grey is a much deeper shade than the production piece. The facial accents are painted heavier and give the AT-AT Driver a much more menacing look.

Lastly we see closeups of the limbs and body detached from one another. This gives a good look at the plastic pins too. I've always felt the AT-AT Driver was one of the nicer figures in the ESB line and am happy to have this piece in my collection.
