Martian Manhunter along with four other heroes and six villains comprised Kenner's 1985 2nd series figure wave. Expertly rendered true to the D.C. Comics character, Martian Manhunter featured a "Martian Punch" power action. The mechanism driving this action feature mimiced the original "punching" mechanism employed on 1st series characters like Batman and Superman. Martian Manhunter shipped exclusively on 2nd series card styles. While Kenner intended to re-release all early figures in conjunction with the 1986 third series wave, Martian Manhunter has not been documented as being released on the 33-back offerless card style. An existing proof card and prototype carded sample provide evidence of the character's intended 3rd series re-release. Martian Manhunter's release is documented on the following two domestic (US) Kenner card types:

Kenner Canada released 31 of the 33 carded Super Powers figures in bilingual packaging featuring both English and French text to comply with bilingual packaging laws in the country. As such, Dr. Fate saw release on the lone 2nd series Kenner Canada card style:

Children residing outside the US and Canada collected Super Powers action figures distributed by additional international companies. Unfortunately Martian Manhunter did not enjoy release in any non-US country except Canada and possibly Australia.
