Kenner designed the Orion action figure with a "Power Action Astro-Punch" action mechanism for inclusion in its 3rd series Super Powers action figure wave. The action feature also serves to spin Orion's head from good to bad. Since the line ceased upon release of the 3rd series, the offerless 33-Back card represents the sole Kenner packaging type for Orion and his other 3rd series companions.

Kenner Canada released 31 of the 33 carded Super Powers figures in bilingual packaging featuring both English and French text to comply with bilingual packaging laws in the country. As such, Orion has been documented on the following bilingual card style:

• 3rd Series 33-Back (Offerless)

Children residing outside the US and Canada collected Super Powers action figures distributed by additional international companies, however Orion was not included in international waves making him available solely in the United States and Canada.
