PROOF CARD SET

The image above shows the only complete 33 character 3rd series proof card set known to exist as of 2005. Although duplicate examples of some characters have surfaced from different sources over the years, the proofs shown here, some of which are completely unique examples, surfaced as a single collection from an ex-Kenner employee in 2004. Thankfully I was able to purchase the set from this gentleman and ensure the set remained entirely intact.

The proof card set is significant as it visually documents that Kenner definitely planned to release every character on a 3rd series, offerless card. Alas, only a select few characters from the 1st and 2nd series appear to have reached retail stores on this particular card style. The confirmed 1st series characters produced and sold on 3rd series cards include: Superman, Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman. The confirmed 2nd series characters include: Firestorm, Kalibak, Desaad, Green Arrow, Steppenwolf, and Darkseid.
