Here is an unpainted hardcopy for Golden Pharaoh's staff. As you can see from the picture, it is cast in a green resin commonly referred to as "dynacast". The staff's detail shows up much nicer in resin than it does in the production toy.
If one compares this piece to the production staff, the hardcopy staff is noticeably larger. Injection molded plastic has a much higher shrinkage ratio than resin, thus the size difference. This hardcopy was created by handpouring liquid resin into a two piece silicone mold. Once the resin cooled, the mold halves were separated and the hardcopy was pulled out. The large amount of hand labor involved in the process of creating a hardcopy is one of the most interesting characteristics in my opinion.
