Wax sculpts are the pinnacle of preproduction collecting. A sculpt is the first stage in the toy production process. Skilled sculptors hand craft these works of art through hours of meticulous labor. Due to their fragile nature, few toy sculpts stood the test of time. Unfortunately, many were melted down for use on other projects after serving their purpose. Kenner decided against this particular Batman pose in favor of a slightly looser, less rigid stance. You can see a hardcopy of the produced batman along with other hardcopies here.
